My name is Suzi Grenfell-Marten and I am a Reiki Master and Reflexologist on Anglesey in North Wales, working from my smallholding, which is just outside the village of Llanfaethlu and easily accessible from Holyhead, Valley and Cemaes. I am a member of the Association of Reflexologists. I offer treatments in Reflexology, Ear Candling and Reiki. Reiki courses and holistic retreats can also be arranged on a bespoke basis.
If you are feeling under stress or run down, or are experiencing conditions such as migraine, IBS or sinus congestion, then please feel free to contact me, as I may very well be able to help. Reflexology, Reiki and Ear Candling are all very relaxing treatments and have the potential to help with a wide range of health issues. You can find out more about these treatments on their respective pages.
Our bodies - and minds! - are complicated structures and so often a problem in one area can throw another out of balance. Holistic therapies encourage your body to balance itself, relax, eliminate toxins and press the re-set button.
Taking time to look after ourselves is often something we let slip when we are busy. Building in regular time for yourself and your wellbeing means you are giving your body, spirit and mind the best chance of being well. Whether you live on Anglesey or are just holidaying in North Wales, even having a one off reflexology or Reiki treatment can have a beneficial effect.
I am lucky enough to live in the countryside in North Wales. Being close to nature brings me peace and perspective. I love walking along the Anglesey coastal path whenever I can. At home I am developing a small field into a place for walking meditation. I have planted trees and bee friendly plants, allowing the grass to grow long and mowing paths through it to create an easy way to connect to the beauty there is all around us.
As a Reflexologist, I appreciate all the hard work our feet do for us, so one of my favourite things to do on a sunny day is to walk barefoot in the meditation field or on a local beach. Anyone booking a retreat with me, will be guided to beautiful places to walk and meditate.
My treatment room looks onto a little orchard where rare breed hens free range. There are apple, pear and wild plum trees. Clients are welcome to sit in the orchard after their treatment and relax with a cup of herbal tea.
Treatments can be deeply relaxing which might help you to de-stress. You might find that you sleep better after a treatment and you may notice other improvements in your health. As a Reflexologist and Reiki Master, part of my on-going professional development is to have regular treatments from other practitioners and I find they bring me deep relaxation and a chance to put my wellbeing first.
Holistic therapies are complementary to conventional healthcare. They should not be used as an alternative to seeking medical advice from your GP.
News from the Hedgerow
The season for planting bareroot trees and shrubs is here and I have several dozen little plants heeled in (dug into a temporary home in a veg bed) awaiting my attention. I have got a lovely selection for a new little hedge near the house: elder, hawthorn, sea buckthorn, bird cherry, crab apple, rowan, wild cherry and field maple. There are also some alder to go into a boggy patch - apparenty they don't mind wet feet! I've also got 10 hazel to go next to the ones I planted last year to create a little grove. The first hedge I planted during our first winter here five years ago, is doing really well and the hips on the dog roses are providing lovely winter colour and food for the birds.
