My name is Suzi Grenfell-Marten. I am a fully qualified Reflexologist and member of the Association of Reflexologists. I am a Reiki Master and I have also trained in Ear Candling. I am committed to developing my understanding of holistic therapies and I am interested in all issues concerning health and well-being.
I live in Llanfaethlu, near the coast of the beautiful Ynys Môn, the Isle of Anglesey. My husband, Nick, and I moved here in October 2014. We run a five acre smallholding and are aiming to be a bit more self sufficient every year. We keep free range hens, rare breed sheep and sometimes pigs. We have a polytunnel, kitchen garden, fruit cage, a small orchard, wildflower meadow and a fledlging forest garden. We have an ensuite B&B room in our cottage and we also offer luxury glamping in two Shepherd's Huts.
My interest in holistic therapies began when I took an evening class in Reflexology in 1994 after which I was hooked. I went to a Reflexologist regularly to help me deal with the stresses and strains of a busy career in education. I found Reflexology was particularly helpful with alleviating the migraines I used to get at the start of the school holidays. My Reflexologist also practised Reiki and I found that Reiki treatments instilled in me a great feeling of calmness and well-being.
After eighteen years in education as a teacher, then headteacher, I retrained as a Reflexologist with the Gaia School of Natural Health in 2010 and qualified with a Level 3 Diploma in 2011. I joined the Association of Reflexologists and attend their regular professional development courses. I have also completed courses in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Reflexology Lymph Drainage, Aroma Reflex, Ear Candling and Bach Flower Remedies.
My Reiki journey began in August 2010 when I received my first attunement. Since then I have studied further and I became a Reiki Master in April 2013. I practise the Usui System and it is an integral part of my life.
I am currently studying about the healing power of plants. I am trying to grow as many of the Bach flowers and trees as I can on the smallholding and maybe one day make my own remedies. I enjoy reading about health and therapies, also how other things like Tai Chi and yoga can improve our well-being. I attend a weekly Hatha yoga class in Cemaes run by Lucy Backhouse.
